Salvage Title Passion Red 2005 V50 T5 AWD M66 | SwedeSpeed

Manual, AWD, Turbo 5 cylinder, muffler delete, all terrain tires- time to sell the fun car!

Update: purchased evap pump and gas cap to try and pass emissions. As I improve the car, price will be “more firm.”

This car is 20 years old, almost 220k miles, and has a salvaged title and doesn’t currently pass emissions. I’m working on fixing that. Buy it for a cheap commuter, track car, lift it, have fun with it, it is not a luxury car, I hauled my 2 car seats and kids in it but YMMV.

Available to show it in Centennial/Littleton 80121 with an appointment weekdays after 6pm and weekends 9-6 pm.

Hey it’s Max, up for sale is my v50. SHE’S NOT LIFTED ANYMORE. Here’s my build thread: https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/lifting-a-p1-v50-t5-awd-m66-spacers.612411/page-7

She starts, runs, drives, does city and highway well. AWD works, boosts well, consumes low amount of fluids. Battery is in good shape, tires have another year on them if you get an alignment. Will not pass emissions.

  • Accident history: salvaged title from rear end collision
  • Maintenance and service history: Orally available, lots of little receipts and notes but I was not meticulously writing down the maintenance records.

Condition detailed notes:

Pros:

Very little steering wheel shake with the bigger Open Country’s, drivable in the city and on the highway.

A/C works well

CEL, suspected evap pump/gas cap leak

Clutch feels good, doesn’t slip

AWD functions

Manual transmission shifts well

Radio works and the center speaker premium audio still sounds great and better than my new car’s speakers

New ECU in 2022

2 Keys

All CV axles are in good shape and don’t show signs of failing. ¾ have been replaced since 2018.

Strut bearings done in January 2025

PCV done in 2021

Only burns about ½ qt oil and ¼ qt coolant between oil changes. Compression seems good and the transmission seems good.

Boost gauge, and new TCV installed 2020

Cons:
This is a salvage-title and heavily used car, clear coat peeling, dents and dings galore. Will not pass emissions with the CEL.

Accident in January 2019 declared a total loss, rear ended; I installed a fresher rear hatch. That registers as being closed about ½ of the time. Paint peeling on hatch

CEL: evap pump fried? Ordered pump and gas cap replacement 3/2/25 and will install.

The heat DOES NOT WORK but will defrost in cold weather very slowly. heater core clog expected, and the A/C is perfect.

Needs alignment

No airbags (bad SRS module).

I’m the 3rd owner, imported from Sweden to Maine, then purchased by a couple in Colorado Springs, then I bought it in 2018. There is some surface rust on the underside of the car, and the rear driver’s side control arm lower strut bolt is seized.

6 CD player doesn’t work

Sunroof shutter rattles so I took it out but still have it.

Muffler delete, the headliner is dropping, there is a front end (loud) squeak in cold weather- I have some new FCA’s that I’ll be installing.

Some odds and ends are missing from the interior and exterior.

No stock RASB installed or included- comes with a JBR swaybar

Front leather seat torn

Stuff included with purchase:
