Finally – FCP front struts | SwedeSpeed

Hello everyone involved here…. I completely see what you’re talking about now in relation to the exact spring being offered through other sources and Lesjofors. Years ago, when we started creating quick struts we worked directly with Lesjofors. We still do this day. We do not list all of their springs individually. initially, we focuses on their “tech document” that pertained to each vehicle model. Because they are an OEM supplier, they have each spring made to Volvo specs and offer them individually. Our initial data when building these kits did not have all the individual springs. We assumed them being the spring manufacture, the data given which only listed one spring across the board for the applications we requested, was the only option. They do have individual springs because they are the OES supplier. We haven’t seen a demand for individual stock springs so we simply don’t list them or allocated resources to identify all of them.
When we began creating quick struts, their document showed a spring with the fitment range and what spring to use. Volvo has always had multiple part numbers for their springs. When you deep dive into all the part numbers, it’s common that half of them pertain to different markets and shock packages. We have even seen a lot of springs eventually supersede to one part number after time.

My team is currently evaluating all the current Volvo numbers and as many as they list, it’s looking like 3 are only being offered. We are going to get all of them from Lesjofors and test the actual difference/rates between them. At this time we don’t have the resources to build custom quick struts for all the springs that pertain to the vehicle ID.
These posts are really the only feedback we’ve received. This product has been extremely popular. We need to do some digging around the data we received for the applications, get some springs in here to test the actual differences between springs being offered by OEM and the aftermarket. We also understand that you do have to take into consideration how long the springs were on the car before replacing the quick struts. Over time the factory springs and shocks will soften quite a bit. A new set of springs and struts can be more rigid over what you were used to, but not to the extent you have experienced.

I have my product team involved working with our supplier, we will update the listings once our team has some better data to showcase what is being offered in quick strut kit. We simply went off of what the vendor applications said for each model we carry quick struts for. I want to try to make it better for our customers, but this is an aftermarket kit and sometimes suppliers offer one kind of shock or strut for all models, but OEM has different variations. We simply can’t comprise a kit for all those variations. What we can do is take your feedback and see how we can improve the listings so customers are better informed.
We will do the best we can to figure out the rate difference so it is more apparent as to what you’re getting in the kit.
I’ll know more here in a few days.
Feel free to contact me anytime at the office.

Thank you

Chris
