I have had an obsession with volvo wagons since i was young, but never owned one until this year.
My truck was in for service & they had no courtesy vehicles, so they sent me to enterprise rentals. Enterprise loaned me a v60 cross country 2025 & the service on my truck took 3 weeks to complete (finding a problem & replacing a compressor once they knew that was the issue)
I fell in love with my v60 cross country wagon, like deeply in love lol.
Everytime they would call me to say my truck reparation was delayed a bit, i was quite content & i insisted they could take all the time they needed.
Meanwhile i ran up the mileage on the v60 cross country rental that the dealership where i bought my truck was paying, i was having the time of my life in that wagon.
That brought me back to obsessing over volvo wagons like when i was younger and within a month i knew i had to have one.
I tried desperately to find a newer v60 polestar hybrid, but unfortunately that was not possible by any means.
I found a lovely v60 t6 rdesign 2020 and after 1 test drive, i brought her to her forever home.
I changed the wheels (but i love the stock rims as well, so they will be my winter set)
I added an intake, a catback exhaust, i blacked out the badges.
My next steps are adding a custom made downpipe, adding a blacked out front grill.
I might add polestar rims if i can find some at a reasonable price.
I am looking into suspension options, probably coilovers that aren’t track centric but that offer a better ride on our rough and torn up canadian roads (roads are absolute hell where i live)
I also wish the wheels were just an inch or so wider or more pushed out. I fear spacers, so unsure if there is anything to do in that regard.
I could use a tad bit more power..
I have the polestar optimization & i am looking for an additional complimentary tune of sorts. Everything seems geared towards the t5 or older v60 models 2019 and below.. i have not found much for my 2020 t6.
My v60 is bipolar in many ways. Some days she thinks she is a rally car and feels hungry, aggressive..as if she wants to hunt corvettes. And other days she feels tired & laggy lol.
I also noticed that on hot & humid days, my v60 really does not react well.
But once the outside temperature gage on the dash is 26 or below, thats when the wagon is more ‘spiffy’ .. from 18 to 24 on the dash external temp display is the ‘belly of fire’ sweet spot.
But as is, i have never had as much pleasure driving a vehicle.
(A testament to that is i bought the v60 in june & i have already put 16000 km of my own mileage on the odometer. My truck that i brought in for service had 25000 km on it since 2022… go figure.
I drive any chance i get without exception in the wagon. I fell in love with not only the wagon, but with driving as well, which is something i never really cared for before that enterprise rental)
In canada we do not have the rs4 wagon or rs3 wagon & the rs6 is too lofty for my budget, so the v60 is the prettiest wagon in canada right behind the rs6.
(It always blows my mind how many people stop me every week to ask what im driving. So many people have no idea what the v60 is here.)
(It also always is fun to see peoples reactions when they see my wagon trailing their high powered performance cars, they also often come stop you at an exit light to ask questions.
I find it amusing thinking how they must be scratching their heads when they see a station wagon taking large autoroute bends at high speeds while their amg or m-series or 2 door sports cars start slowing down in that same curve.)
Not enough is said about just how well a v60 drives, handles & has traction. Its the funnest thing to drive.
Also not enough is said about how versatile the seats are..so many driving positions (including the lowest seating angle i have ever seen in any vehicle, you could be sitting lower than the door sil flat on the ground feeling as if you are in a go kart on the road if you want to lol)
Thank you all for posting such a vault of valuable information, i truely appreciate it.
