Volvo EX90 named 2025 Wards 10 Best Interior & UX award winner

MAHWAH, NJ (Apr. 24, 2025) – The 2025 Volvo EX90 has been named a 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX award winner with an interior that blends luxury, functionality and sustainability.

After evaluating more than 30 vehicles, the fully electric, three-row EX90 impressed the judges with its combination of premium design and intuitive technology.

“The Volvo EX90 checks all the boxes that we look for in a winning interior: lovely design aesthetics, interesting or unique trim, high levels of comfort, plenty of space for passengers and cargo, and well-performing technologies providing for a great user experience,” says Christie Schweinsberg, program manager and judge for Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX. “Our judges were impressed by the EX90’s high-resolution main display, user-friendly interface and by the vehicle’s Bowers & Wilkins audio system.”

The judges also praised the use of bio-attributed materials in EX90, such as the use of Nordico, Volvo Cars’ premium alternative to leather. These materials, along with design cues from the traditional Scandinavian living room, continue Volvo’s proud tradition of refined and functional interiors paired with intuitive technology.

The interior of EX90 includes a large center display featuring Google built-in, which allows drivers to access Google Maps, Google Assistant and additional apps on Google Play. The driver’s experience is further aided by a driver display and head-up display to show pertinent information while allowing the driver to stay focused on the road ahead.

Adding to the user-friendly nature of the vehicle’s infotainment system is the incorporation of the contextual bar on the center display. The contextual bar considers certain factors, such as what gear the vehicle is in or the current speed of the vehicle, to provide quick access to settings or camera views that the occupant wants to utilize at that time.

With backlit wood decor featuring LED lighting that replicates natural sunlight, the luxurious cabin of EX90 maintains a serene atmosphere. Passengers can also enjoy natural sunlight through the panoramic roof, which is tinted to prevent sun glare. The top-of-the-line Bowers & Wilkins sound system features 25 high-fidelity speakers and delivers an immersive sound experience with Dolby Atmos.

Available in both six and seven passenger configurations, EX90 gives owners the flexibility to carry additional passengers, but not at the expense of storage space. A large cargo compartment with generous under-floor storage is located behind the third row of seats. When additional storage space is needed, all the rear seats fold flat and the power-operated third row seats allow for seamless transition at the touch of a button.

Volvo Cars will be presented with the honor at the 2025 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX awards ceremony on June 5, 2025, during the AutoTech 2025 Conference at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI.
